Connect GitHub - GetPullRequest

GitHub is optional for local coding, but you need it to open PRs on GitHub, sync issues, and enrich merge checks with live PR metadata. GPR still works in git-only mode: the daemon uses local git and worktrees. Without GitHub OAuth, host-backed PR APIs are unavailable.

Connect from the app

Sign in to GPR (Google or GitHub via Firebase login).
Open Settings → Connections.
Connect GitHub and finish the OAuth flow.
Bind a repository to your workspace when prompted during onboarding or workspace setup.

The GitHub OAuth callback uses the app deep link com.pullrequest://github-callback.

Auto-pick issues with a label

Onboarding documents this convention:

Add the label gpr:agent to a GitHub issue.
Assign the issue to yourself.
GPR syncs it onto the board and can start work on your paired workspace.
